곡을 쓰기 얼마전, 사랑하는 나의 친구 두명이 독일로 이민을 갔다. 아마 5년전부터 꾸준히 이민을 위한 준비를 해와서 언젠가는 떠날거라는걸 알고 있었지만 송별회 자리에서 쏟아지는 눈물은 어쩔 수 없었다. 독일에 가서 학교도 다니고 일도 하고 결혼도 할거라고 했다. 우리나라에서는 동성애 결혼이 허락되지 않으니까. 법적으로 인정받는 관계가 되기위해 그렇게 오랜시간 준비하고 준비해서 가버렸다.
사람들은 쉽게 이야기 한다.
지금 해결해야 할 중요한 문제들이 너무 많으니 성소수자 인권은 다음에 이야기 하자고.
아직은 때가 아니라고.
누가 누구의 삶이 중요하지 않다고 쉽게 말할 수 있는걸까?
내가 지금 눈을 뜨고 글을 쓰는 지금은 내일의 내가 아니다. 오늘의 내가 오늘을 살아간다. (배들소)

Not long ago, my two beloved friends emigrated to Germany. I had been preparing for their departure for five years, so I knew that they would leave one day. But at the farewell party I still couldn't help crying—for the fact that they were leaving as well as for why. Same-sex marriage is still not allowed in Korea. To have their love be legally acknowledged, they had to go so far away.

There are so many important problems to solve these days, so now more than ever we must reaffirm the value of all human lives.
Who can easily say whose life doesn't matter?
I am not tomorrow's me now that I am writing with my eyes open. Today I live today.
